  1. Virtual Autism Evaluations for Families in Illinois
    • The Reduce the Wait project is in full swing!
    • So far, we have provided an autism evaluation to almost 100 families in Illinois and we’ve trained 32 providers on the autism diagnostic protocol.
    • If you know families who are seeking an autism evaluation, please share this video or flyer and ask them to text “enroll” to 847-750-3440.
  1. Training on Virtual Autism Evaluations for DTs and SLPs in Illinois
    • If you’re an SLP or DT interested in applying to be a part of this project, you can apply here.
    • By 2024, our hope is to start providing virtual autism evaluations in Spanish, Arabic, and Mandarin to families who primarily speak these languages.
      • Rather than using interpreters, as is commonly done, we are committed to pairing bilingual therapists (Developmental Therapists and Speech-language Pathologists) from across the state of Illinois to serve these families in their primary languages.
      • We are defining “fluent” as therapists that can read, write, and speak the language with near native proficiency.
      • If you are a DT or SLP who is fluent in Spanish, Arabic, or Mandarin, then we would love for you to be a part of the January 2024 cohort (which will start the onboarding/training process in September and see families starting in January). Please forward this to anyone who may be interested.

  1. We are submitting a new grant that would involve training 40 SLPs in Illinois and we need your support!
    • We are looking for a total of 40 SLPs in Illinois to show their support for a grant proposal we are submitting this August.The grant would train SLPs on various evidenced-based intervention strategies to use with families on their caseload. You’d receive free CEUs and compensation for doing research activities with families. Providers that sign the letter will be given priority if the project is funded.
